Hello, I’m grateful you’re here. Subscribing means you’ve chosen to spend some of your attention on what I write—and I don’t take that lightly.
I’ve reworked the design of the blog. The new look draws on a few influences I care about: the clarity of LaTeX and academic typography, the warmth of Diderot’s Encyclopédie (documenting craft and workshop with care), and sites like henry.codes and The Marginalian that treat long-form reading as something worth designing for. The idea is a bit of scholarly structure on warm, readable ground—"scholarship in shirtsleeves," as I think of it.
I’m also making a commitment: I’ll publish something new every two weeks. No big promises beyond that—just a rhythm I want to keep.
Also, when you hit reply and tell me what landed or what didn’t, it really does mean the world to me. This stays small and personal, and your words are a big part of that.
If you know one person who might enjoy this kind of writing—someone who likes tech criticism, European sensibility, or essays that start with a story—passing it along would make me very happy.
